Gymnastics???

Ok, so it's not really gymnastics, but it's in a gym at any rate!  Ruby goes to "Come Play with Me" class, we've only been there once and she's taken to climbing a small set of stairs that leads to a large slanted mat - which she crawls down at an unusually fast pace, and stumbles a little on the way!  The other thing she loved was this large foam block that she kept climbing up and sitting on.  She has no fear!

Home Sweet Home

Back home with her puppy Drake!  It's great to be home but we miss everyone in Colorado greatly!  It was so wonderful to spend so much time with Colin and Audrey and watch them interact with Ruby.  What great big cousins.  Audrey was a great to read to Ruby at bedtime.  Colin was loving stroller pushing responsibilities, and was especially careful at tucking Ruby in one night.  They both loved helping with bath time and also making sure her sleep area was ready for her.  We miss you already!

Our flight home was pretty uneventful, she slept for half the flight!  There was only one seat empty on the flight, and that was next to us!  I purposefully sat at the very poack of the plane in hopes this would happen!  It also helped that when the plane was loading this was one of the only times Ruby was at her fussiest for the flight!  Good girl, deter those passengers!!!  The man that sat in our row loved entertaining Ruby during her awake time and got a kick out of her huge smiles.

Things that have changed this past week...  a wave!  She can wave "hi" now!  You may not always get the wave, but she can!  She also makes this crazy cute scruntchy face where she wrinkles her nose and squeezes her eyes tight, she'll watch for you to do it then mimic it back.  Pretty cute!

Letters to Daddy, Part 6

Dear Daddy,
This is the last letter I'm going to write you...  because I"M COMING HOME!!!  So...  Mommy says you better turn off that X-Box and finish your laundry!  :)
I had a really fun day playing with my cousins and my Auntie.  I gave my Uncle a few good chuckles when he got home from work too.  We stayed home for the majority of the day, only a trek to the grocery store.  Colin and Audrey drove me around in the mega cart, it was great fun!  Audrey is going to read to me for bedtime and Colin will finish by tucking me in!  I'm pretty sure I'll fight Mommy during bedtime a little but don't tell her, I just need to keep her on her toes!
Can't wait to see you tomorrow!

Letters to Daddy, Part 5

Dear Daddy,
We had such a great day but missed you tons!  We took a beautiful drive to Breckenridge.  On the way we stopped at a scenic overlook - WE GOT SNOWED ON!  Okay, so it was only a few snowflakes, but flakes they were indeed!  Even Fanny got out of the car!  We saw a quite a few Jeeps and Mommy kept saying, "Ooh, your Daddy would love that one"!  After this stop we headed onwards to Breckenridge where we shopped a little, had dinner then headed home.
Love you lots and miss you more!
Snowy mountains!

Letters to Daddy, Part 4

Dear Daddy,
I'm so tired!  It was a busy day.  After breakfast I had a really good nap, then got prepared to go to Colin's soccer game.  Mommy and I walked there with Audrey.  He's a good runner!  After that we had lunch then had to run out to Audrey's soccer game!  I had so much fun cheering for the good guys!  I found another soccer ball to play with, I really love to play with them!  Ooooh, Daddy, I may be a sports girl some day!  We're heading to Breckenridge tomorrow!
     Love you!

Letters to Daddy, Part 3

Dear Daddy,
Day two at the Lyp house was fun, busy and oh so tiring!  I started the day with a new breakfast food...  CHEERIOS!  I love Cheerios!!!  I ate soooo many of them.  Afterwards - I took a nap.  A really good nap, at least that's what Mommy said!  Then Mommy, Colin, Auntie Elizabeth and I went to lunch and did a little crafty shopping.  Our next stop - Audrey's school to watch her run in their "fun run", she did 10 laps which is like 2 miles!  After Audrey's school we watched some soccer practice then came home to play, lots of play!  Not sure what the plan is for the weekend yet - just some soccer games tomorrow!
Love you, I'll write again tomorrow!

 Yummy Cheerios!

Letters to Daddy, Part 2

Dear Daddy,
Today was a great day.  I woke up cozy and warm in Mommy's arms!  I was afraid Mommy was missing you so I figured I'd sleep with her.  She kept trying to get me to sleep in my own bed but I wasn't going to have anything to do with that, oops, I mean I really didn't want her to be alone!  She finally got the hint (or I finally passed out, not sure what happened first) around midnight.  I woke up twice more to check up on her, she seemed very tired!
Auntie Elizabeth, Mommy, and I met Uncle Tony for lunch then we shopped!  After that was play time with my cousins, a nap, dinner, more play time, then bedtime!  Tonight I'm hoping Mommy can sleep all by herself, we'll see what happens!
     Love you!
p.s. Auntie Elizabeth took us to see puppies in the mall...  I'm coming home with four of them, ok?!  We saw a beautiful Dane puppy too!

Waking up with a smile!

Letters to Daddy, Part 1

Dear Daddy,
I'm here, I'm here!  We got to Denver safe and sound.  I miss you tons already.  The plane ride was fun, the flight attendents loved me!  I napped a little and was my normal adventurous self the rest of the time.  As you can see in the picture below, the trays are for more than just eating on!
We got to surprise Colin and Audrey as they were coming down the block after school!  Our visit was a great surprise to them.  Colin was in the driveway as we pulled up, he just stared at us and said, "What are you guys doing here?", and Audrey ran up the driveway screaming, "Yay!".
Time for bed, good night Daddy, I love you!!

 My plane!!!
 Getting ready to go!
Seriously - this is Ruby crawling on the tray table!

Lake Geneva

It's a story about a girl.  Long story short - met her in Springfield, Missouri - then she moved to South Carolina.  She moved back to Springfield, but sadly I was already back in Illinois.  Now - she's in Wisconsin!  Woohoo!  I love having Dainta so close to me again!

Ruby, Grandma and I drove to Lake Geneva to visit with Dainta.  We could no have asked for a better day!

Ruby showed Grandma a new game called "Where's the Coffee?"
Where could it be, which lid is it under?  Feelin' lucky?

Tada!  Oops, no coffee...  but it tastes like it!

Auntie Dainta is here!

Ooooh, Daddy would be so mad if I put this on his lunch!

Beautiful fall colors

What a perfect day to go to Lake Geneva!

No swimming today!
