Weather, Ruby, and the weather

Ruby and her friend Weather - daring the big bad slide at a local elementary school.  Okay, okay, it's not so big.  Just having some fun, on a "not so cold" day, because the stinkin' weather can't make up its mind!
We'll take the 60's Mr. Weatherman.
The 60's would be lovely.

Love my camera

My Canon PowerShot is awesome.  I can get some pretty incredible photos with it.  Here I was playing around with the black and white feature.  I guess that it helped that my subjects were perfectly cooperative too!

Random Happenings

Hello Spring!  60 degree weather we welcome you with open arms!  We've been waiting for you.  One other thing we look forward to every year around this time is opening up the camper.  Ahhh...  Our once a year, de-winterizing, reorganizing, dreaming of camping weekends, and looking forward to our camping in the Rockies trip!  Hope you are ready Ruby!

Hello Spring!  Ruby has perfected her princess wave and waves at everyone, especially on walks!  I'd also like to say, thank god her wagon has seatbelts!  She has no fear and would be climbing all over this thing while on the move!

Ruby's first hair accessory.  I know, I know, it's a stretch - just had to do it!  That's toast that she's eating by the way.

Caution:  Crafty Mama at work.  I've been wanting to get Ruby one of these car organizers but they seemed so expensive at the stores.  Well I decided to make one since I had a pattern, I think the pattern came from Grandma Wickman.  Anyway, it ended up costing me about $5 more than the store version!  Figures, but it was really a fun project so well worth the cost!  I choose the pocket pattern figuring she'll have fun with it when she's a little older.  It has all the states on it with their names and capitals.  Pretty cute, I must say!

I've been wanting to add some more details to Ruby's room.  We both wanted to give it a little bit more of a "girlie" feel and found the purple dragonfly and pink butterfly for the wall.  I added this green vining and the "real" looking brown vine with her name.  Eventually I'll pick up some greenery to make it look like her name is hanging from the vines.

I'm really happy with how this turned out!  Notice "flat Audrey" in these last two photos.  She is sadly not a permanent fixture to Ruby's room as she'll be transported back to Colorado soon.  Flat Audrey has been visiting Illinois and is real Audrey's school project.  More on her flat self to come in a future post.

Preparing for the Easter Bunny

This girl loves to put things on her head - then check herself out in the mirror!  It's really my fault, it was originally the only way to keep her first birthday crown on!  So here she is wearing her new bunny ears and new sunglasses.  Naturally we couldn't help but put them on Drake as well!
